Michelle is a Georgia-licensed Property & Casualty insurance professional with vast experience in underwriting and agency management. Her work has focused on municipal and county governments, educational institutes, and water authorities for over 11 years providing property, casualty, and workers compensation programs to insureds across the Southeast. Her unique position of having both underwriting and agency management experience gives her great insight into carrier and agency operations from the inside out, thus allowing her to better understand, serve, and deliver on the needs of her clients. Michelle holds a B.A. in Business Management from Georgia State University and is a strong believer in continuing education earning both her CISR and CSRM designations.

A graduate of Carrollton High School, Preston has over 8 years of insurance experience in his native State of Georgia. Preston began his career with the Office of Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, while completing his bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Georgia. Prior to receiving his degree, he also worked under the Risk Manager of Southwire Company, a private company located in his hometown of Carrollton with an international presence in the copper wire manufacturing industry. His experiences provided him a unique inside look at how insurance carriers are regulated at the state level, coupled with firsthand knowledge of how a $6 billion company mitigates risk on a daily basis. He joined Apex Insurance Services in 2014 as an Account Executive and later transitioned to an Associate Broker role in 2017 before ascending to Assistant VP. Preston holds a Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty. He most recently sat on the board for Young Professionals Committee of Georgia, a syndicate of PIA Southern Alliance comprised of young insurance agents. He has provided input and direction relative to coverage, forms, and the evolving Public Entity & Education Insurance environment.

Elizabeth proudly provides Loss Control and Risk Management services to our public entity clients. She was raised in metro-Atlanta and spent eight years in contract and corporate law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and later received her master’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia. Before joining our team, Elizabeth served as the Risk Manager for one of Georgia’s largest cities for six years where she handled property, liability and workers compensation claims for multiple departments including Public Works, Recreation & Parks, and Police & Fire. As the Director of Loss Control for Apex, Elizabeth helps manage and reduce our clients’ overall risks by reviewing loss trends, identifying hazards, offering specific recommendations to mitigate losses, and assisting with Safety Committee development and guidance and numerous training courses. With a desire to make a difference in her community, Elizabeth also serves on several local non-profit boards.

Lauren is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Risk Management and Insurance Program. She holds her Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty and has worked in the insurance industry since 2010 handling large commercial and municipal accounts. Her experience with property & casualty insurance coverages along with her excellent communication skills allow her to provide prompt and professional service to each of her clients.

Michelle began her career with us in the early 1990’s and currently serves Apex as a Customer Service Representative and Loss Data Analyst. Michelle holds a Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty and works directly with our account executives and claims staff to serve the needs of our clients/agents. Her duties include policy change requests, certificates of insurance, data entry and policy review. As a claims analyst, Michelle’s primary role is ordering and analyzing updated loss information and composing loss history reports for marketing and claims review purposes. She also assists the Claims Office in reporting new claims and ensuring all acknowledgments, reserve advisory alerts and closing notices are submitted timely. With over 20 years of experience, Michelle’s expertise in Public Entity Insurance is key to understanding the complex needs of our clients and agents.

Dave holds a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration, minoring in Marketing. He spent 30 years in corporate America with IBM, its distributors and business partners, and his own consulting firm. He provides our clients with on-site safety training as a certified instructor by the National Safety Council in defensive driving, roadway flagging, and forklift operation. At the office, he in-processes policies, endorsements, and claims for our team.

Located in our City of Cumming Claims Office, Gail has been with the company since 1987. During this 30+-year period, Gail has worked exclusively in the Public Sector Insurance arena. Previously serving as an Account Manager and Producer, Gail has spent the past 17 years using her extensive knowledge of public entity insurance to serve our clients as Claims Manager for our company’s satellite Claims Division. Her thorough understanding of Public Entity property & casualty coverages along with her excellent communication skills allow her to provide prompt, professional claims support services as well as effective dialog between the Insured/Agent and the Insurance Company on all claims-related matters. She has held a Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty for 25 years.

As Sr. Claims Specialist in our Cumming Claims Office, Joan has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. She holds a Resident GA Insurance License for Property & Casualty and has been with the company since 2004. Her career began with Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where she served as an inside/outside property adjuster for eight years. Following her tenure with Chubb, Joan she served as Manager of the company’s MGA program for public school systems. Her duties included contacting prospective clients, compiling information needed to complete applications for submissions to the carrier and acting as the liaison between the carrier and the client to gather any additional information needed for quotation. As Sr. Claims Specialist, Joan’s responsibilities include reviewing and processing new claims, assisting the Claims Manager in preparing status reports for upcoming claims reviews, and providing day-to-day customer and local agency service and support for all claims-related issues.

Lindsey is a graduate of Bauder College and started her insurance career with Apex in 2012. Her primary responsibilities include reviewing and processing all incoming policy change requests and updating and maintaining all our Insured’s current asset lists, to include automobile schedules, property statements of value, equipment schedules, etc. Lindsey’s attention to detail allows her to efficiently and accurately examine the data presented to locate any potential discrepancies and correct, update, and/or revise the information accordingly. Her work product is crucial to our sales team’s ability to ensure all schedules have been thoroughly examined and updated both before, during, and after the marketing process in order to maintain accuracy in quoting.
